Some random kid walked onstage during The Game Awards 2022 and nominated Bill Clinton, out of all people. Just who is this kid who crashed TGA 2022?
This all happened near the end of The Game Awards 2022. The show just announced that Elden Ring won Game of the Year, so Hidetaka Miyazaki walked on stage to accept the award. What people didn't realize immediately was that his entourage had one extra person. After Miyazaki gave his acceptance speech, the kid that tagged along with them suddenly walked up to the mic. Seemingly out of nowhere, the kid said to everyone watching the award show:
I just want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton. Thank you everyone.
Of course, this caused a lot of confusion both on-site and online, as people started to wonder just who this kid was. Right after the show, Geoff Keighley, Founder of the Game Awards, announced on his Twitter that the kid was arrested. A statement from the Los Angeles Police Department to Polygon says, however, that although a police report was taken, an arrest didn't happen. No one knows who the kid really is, although a user on Twitter is saying that the kid is supposedly his friend's friend.

According to some people online, the kid in question was allegedly in Infowars. Not only that but he is also allegedly an anti-semite or someone who very much hates Jews. Some Twitter users have even claimed to have found the kid's Twitter account. Now, a day later, we found the identity of the kid in question. His name is Matan Even, and this is not the first time he pulled a prank like this.
I came to #BlizzCon19 to make a point! My point has been proven! I ran up on the Q&A panel (World of Warcraft) and Yelled, “FREE HONG KONG!” Now remember, to keep fighting for basic human rights! #hongkong #blizzcon #BoycottBlizzard pic.twitter.com/z6M4VVpCnB

Three years ago, Even went to a World of Warcraft Q&A panel, where he shouted “Free Hong Kong!” This actually served as the catalyst for him to get invited to Infowars, where he was interviewed regarding what he did. Even is still a supporter of Hong Kong, and still wants it to be free. If you actually go to his Twitter account, it's filled with posts and videos about the situation in Hong Kong. He even talks about the Asian hate crimes that happened in America during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. He did, however, stop posting about it since last year, with his last tweet about Hong Kong coming out back in June of 2021.
In an interview with Polygon, Even said that he still supported Hong Kong. He mentioned that it didn't feel like the right time to talk about it yesterday. That's why he just went for his Bill Clinton comment. Not only that but Even is not anti-semitic, as people previously said he was. In fact, he even described himself as Jewish. He also spent quite a bit of the interview singing praises to Bill Clinton. Even was saying that Clinton embodied a “reform orthodox” ideology. This comes from a combination of Reform Jews and Orthodox Jews. Even said he didn't want to seclude one group.
At the end of the day, we can see this prank as nothing more than that, a prank carried out by a 15-year-old kid. Whether he did it for clout, for a just cause, or for no reason at all we'll most likely find out. As for now, however, we can just treat it as one of The Game Awards 2022's biggest surprises.
Will the Bill Clinton Kid Appear at The Game Awards 2023?
It has been a year since the Bill Clinton Incident in TGA 2022. However, this might not be the last time we'll hear of Even.

A day before TGA 2023, Even posted an ominous post with just four words: See You Tomorrow Geoff. We don't know if Even will actually make an appearance during TGA 2023 as he did in 2022. What we do know, however, is that if he does, it might just be another Game of the Year win for Bill Clinton. If Even does make an appearance again this year, we will be sure to let you know.
