Michael DeLeo Obituary, Death Cause – Michael J. DeLeo, a Stamford, Connecticut native for his whole life, died quietly on September 19, 2023, in Stamford Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He is the third child of Joseph and Sandra (Chicatell) DeLeo, Jr. and was born on April 1, 1968. When Michael passed away, he was 55 years old. Mickey cherished his friendships and family. Everyone around him would constantly experience joy, love, and laughter through his infectious chuckle. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone, anytime.
He had an unwavering devotion to his favorite sports teams, the Islanders, Red Sox, and Packers, and would watch and support them no matter what. He would give you his clothes off his back and had a heart bigger than life itself. He will be sincerely missed; he was a devoted son, grandchild, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Apart from his parents, Joe and Sandra, Michael is survived by his siblings, JD and Kelley DeLeo from Naples, FL, and Pat Wade and husband Michael from Chester, NJ. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, extended family members, and close friends.
His aunts are Barbara Robinson from Bluffton, SC, and Pat Wade and husband Michael from Chester, NJ. The deceased included his aunt Laurie Jan DeLeo, uncle Robert DeLeo, cousin Ronnie DeLeo, and both sets of grandparents, Joseph F. DeLeo, Sr. and Jean (Johnston) DeLeo, Dante and Madeline (Frate) Chicatell. On Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, friends and family may pay their respects to the family at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. The visitation hour at 10:00 AM will be promptly followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at St. John Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820. After mass, there will be an inurnment at Darien’s Spring Grove Cemetery.
