Demi Moore has admitted she lost herself following her divorce from Ashton Kutcher. The revelation is one of many the actress dished about in her new memoir, Inside Out.
Monday on Good Morning America, Moore got candid about the fallout of her breakup from The Ranch star during an interview with Diane Sawyer. The deterioration of her marriage caused Moore to become lost.
“I lost me. I think the thing if I were to look back, I would say I blinded myself, and I lost myself,” the Ghost star shared.
Moore ended up relapsing after 20-years of sobriety following her split from Kutcher. It was the only way she could cope with another failed marriage. She began using substances like Vicodin and alcohol, to deal with the pain, but it only caused those around her anguish.

The actress’s relapse and self-destructive behavior resulted in her three daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah not speaking to her. Even Moore’s once-close relationship with ex-husband, Bruce Willis became estranged when he chose to distance himself from her.
In 2012, Moore got the wakeup call she needed after almost losing her life. After smoking synthetic marijuana and inhaling nitrous oxide at a party, the Hollywood starlet was rushed to the hospital. She weighed only 102 lbs. at the time, and the drugs had a dramatic effect on her tiny frame.
“I guess the fundamental question that came forward for me was, ‘How did I get here?’ I mean, from where I started to what I’ve experienced, where I’ve been, how did I get here? “From where I started to what I’ve experienced, where I’ve been, how did I get here?” she stated.
Moore had previously shared falling in love with Kutcher made her feel like she was a kid again. Since her childhood was full of drama, being with a vibrant young man like the That 70’s Show alum, gave her another chance at being young.
